Looking for the best breakfast in London, wanting something delicious, maybe it’s some healthy avocados and poached eggs on rye bread or maybe you’re after a waffle soaked in maple syrup topped with fresh fruit and cream!

We’ve searched out the very best breakfasts London has to offer and put them here for you to pick, go off and enjoy!

Amazing views across the city from the 40th floor and a delicious Duck and Waffle, we’re mentioning this first as it’s our favourite! The crispy leg confit is served on a waffle with a fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup and it just works! It’s so good no matter the time of the day. They also have a range of other foods which are equally delicious.

Even with 3 branches you’ll likely have to queue to have brunch here, they have a fantastic menu and our favourites include the broken eggs with ricotta, spinach and nuts as well as the buckwheat bowls. The emphasis is with clean eating at this Aussie inspired restaurant.

3. Patisserie lovers you’ll love La Patisserie Des Reves


We bet you won’t have visited somewhere like this before, it’s unique, delicious and a must visit if you have a sweet tooth in the morning. The name translates to ‘the patisserie of dreams’ and we have to agree, the clean, modern look reveals things like the Paris-Brest, filled with praline cream which is delicious.

4. The bacon naan roll at Dishoom


I know what you’re thinking, a Naan for breakfast? Well the guys at Dishoom (one of our favourite restaurants, a bombay cafe style) make a pretty awesome bacon naan that we think it’s one of the best places for breakfast in London.

You’ll often find ques for this so make sure you turn up early and be prepared to wait a while, but the wait is worth it. We bet you’ll struggle to make a decision with the enticing menu on hand, all we say is we love everything we’ve tried… but do recommend the pancakes.

6. Chrizo baked eggs at Fleet River Bakery, Holborn

A dish of choice the chorizo baked eggs with roasted red peppers and garlic yoghurt is a must try, they have a fantastic range of baked goods, cakes, breads and you usual breakfast foods.

7. A raw breakfast at Tanya’s Cafe, South Ken


A unique raw plant based restaurant, you’ll find a range of breakfast and brunch foods available, great for clean eaters or anyone wanting to try something super healthy and yummy!

8. Baked eggs at Caravan, King’s Cross


Ideal if you’re looking for brunch as it’s served up until 4pm, some of our favourites include avocado on toast with chilli and lemon, the pumpkin waffle which is finished with baked ricotta, maple syrup & pecans and of course baked egg dishes! There’s no booking available so turn up and be prepared to queue at peak times.

 9. Arguably the best pancakes in London – Pavillion Cafe, Victoria Park


You’ll be able to get all your favourites here including eggs florentine, benedict and royale along with everything else you may expect from a cafe (good bacon sarnies), a lovely place to go to after a walk around victoria park or walk afterwards and burn off those calories.

12. Fried chicken & egg croissant waffle at Foxlow


Okay you may be thinking why are these things put together but the people behind  Hawksmoor’s (steak heaven) seriously know what they’re doing. This mix works and it works brilliantly, if it’s not your thing at all then they have other delights such as the breakfast burger which involves a large stack of charcoal-grilled sausage patty, bacon, mushrooms and dippy fried eggs.

Heading to the Seven Dials to have a delicious brunch, we love their french toast topped with bacon but also highly recommended is the Spiced banana French toast which comes with grilled bacon, orange blossom, tamarind raisin relish, orange vanilla syrup. The variety of egg dishes is exceptional too, plus best of all you can order brunch at the weekends till 4pm.

16. Seriously naughty or superfood breakfasts at Christopher’s, Covent Garden


Yes you can choose to either be a little naughty and go for a Chocolate Brioche French Toast or you can opt for the lighter healthier breakfast section and go for a Watermelon, Blueberry & Spinach Salad, the choice will be yours. Oh and the lobster benedict is a great choice for something in the middle!

17. A laid back breakfast at Ben’s Canteen, Battesea/Earlsfield

A lovely relaxed atmosphere will meet you as you turn up for breakfast or brunch here, the menu has something for everyone with a top notch avocado & chrozio on toast, some great buttermilk pancakes as well a breakfast burito which is worth considering.

Enjoy all your favourites from eggs, spinich, pancakes to avocado on toast, the Sweet Maria (sweetcorn fritters, grilled halloumi, avocado, kasundi and lime) are a popular choice at this quirky cafe and a great choice to for brunch or breakfast. Located in south London just a few minutes from Balham tube station.

Uniquely this restaurant raised money via crowdfunding to open, it’s known for it’s bagels, stuffed egg pitas, za’atar fried chicken and the Jerusalem Breakfast which involves several smaller plates (mezze style).

For those wanting something a little smaller for breakfast as we know you’ll not all want a big meal at the start of the day, head down here to enjoy a dougnut and coffee, a great way to start your day and they’re delicious too.

21. Enjoy brunch at The Providores/Tapa Room

With brunch being served all week in the Tapa room and at weekends in the Providores we’re fans of lots of the menu, including the popular Turkish eggs which includes poached eggs on whipped yoghurt with a hot chilli butter and sourdough or seeded granary toast. We also love the grilled chorizo with sweet potato and miso hash, soft boiled egg, garlic labne and star anise cashew nut praline. 

It’s pretty busy at weekends so get down early.
